What is thread count?

Thread count refers to the number of threads woven together in one square inch of fabric. It includes both the horizontal (weft) and vertical (warp) threads. The higher the thread count, the denser and typically smoother the fabric feels, which is often associated with quality and luxury in linens, especially for bedding.

Key Points About Thread Count:

Low thread count (200-400): Often lighter and less dense, these sheets are breathable and typically more affordable. Suitable for warmer climates or people who prefer cooler sheets.
Medium thread count (400-600): Considered high-quality, these sheets are softer and more durable, offering a good balance of comfort and breathability.
High thread count (600-800+): These sheets are very smooth, soft, and luxurious, often made from finer yarns. However, beyond 800 thread count, the difference in quality is not always significant and can be more about marketing.
